2020 Wenzao Library Cup Competition on Reading Aloud

  • Objectives
  1. To advocate reading across campus.
  2. To improve students’ oral expression and communication skills.
  3. To encourage students to read non-native languages.
  • Eligibility and Registration
  1. Any Wenzao students are eligible to apply for this competition.
  2. Applicants can choose one of the following 6 languages for reading aloud: Chinese, English, French, German, Spanish and Japanese.
  3. Topic of Reading Aloud: I read for ______
    Applicant can select any text that interests you or that you want to raise the public awareness for reading aloud.
  4. Each language division is to be open with a minimum of 3 applicants, and the maximum number of applicants in each language division is no more than 8 individuals.
  5. Registration ends on November 13, 2020.
  6. The applicant should submit the registration form as the attached file below and the COVID-19 Screening Questionnaire in Chinese texts. Please note that the length of read-aloud should be 3 to 5 minutes. If you choose to read aloud in non-native languages, you will gain extra 2 points in the total scores. Once the submission is reviewed and approved, the applicant is eligible to enter the competition. Please submit all the materials for review to the library staff at li1001@mail.wzu.edu.tw.
  • Date and Venue for Evaluation: 2 phases in the competition
  1. Date: November 23, 2020
    (Time for each language division is to be announced on Nov. 18, 2020 on the Library Website and email each eligible applicant.)
  2. Venue: Multi-Purpose Learning Studio, 8th Fl., Library
  • Evaluation Criteria:Total of 100 points

  • Prize

First Prize: A cash prize of NT$1,000 and an award certificate.

Second Prize: A cash prize of NT$500 dollars and an award certificate.

Third Prize: A cash prize of NT$300 dollars and an award certificate.
